This is one of the best turn-based strategy games of all time! Even after all these years, it still holds up! Highly recommended.
Still as much fun today as it was when it first came out. AI leaves a bit to be desired, but don't all 4x games? This one allows you to build cities, conquer cities, level up heroes, build stronger armies, etc. All so you can go and wipe out the enemy! This game has the good sense to let the AI resign when you have overwhelming odds. You don't have to fight everyone to the bitter end. Great game!
I own this game on Steam. It says I've played for 1,631 hours! I think I like this game. The strategy is just enough to make you sweat. Many tough decisions to make. I love my Mech!
Even after 32 years this still holds up. It's not like today's games that hold your hand and tell you what to do and where to go next. You're free to send your party wherever you desire. It can take several hours to get your party strong enough to fight the tough battles, but it's a great path to trod. The watercolor backgrounds and text choices get tiresome after awhile, but they are very well done.
