This game simply is a masterpice of a storygame and still challenges you enough to not feel like a boring walking simulator(I personally dont see the appeal of games where all I can do is inspect my surroundings.) The best part is that the characters all are very well written as is the story. Also the setting of a plagued france is portrait in a very fitting and immersive way. All of this is achieved by having a very polished art and music design which on the other hand is backed by fantastic writing which all together make every level and every sequence feel unique interesting and still not loose the overall picture. This game simply shows the passion that Asobo Studio put into making this game the best story and character driven experience. You simply feel for the characters and their situations and everything that happens leaves a meaningfull impact on you.
I am not yet done with this game, but it is simply amazing, the only issue I have with it, is that the resolution scaling, which I need for good performance on my GTX950 2GB, also scales down the UI unlike most other modern games. It is probably an issue of ho the UI is implemented in the game itself, what makes it look really nice in full scaling, but not so well at 75%. But other than that I really love the challange this game provides, whilst also considering, that not everyone loves painfull deaths that set you way back, like Dark Souls players seem to do, which is why the game saves litteraly before every encounter, so when you die you will not have to go all the way again, which for me as I like a challange, but don't want to do the same stuff over and over is a grerat solution. A lot of people state, that you get less than an hour per run, but if you are also not that good in those sort of hack n' slash, DmC, Dark Souls, Doom mashup, you can for sure spent more time on your first playtrough, like I am still doing, but as I mentioned before due to the nice placed savepoints this game is alot of fun even if you die a lot.
