The good - Gorgeous cyberpunk-neon ambiance - Beautiful soundtrack! - Gunplay - Mobility: speed, stunts, bullet time - More modes to play once you finish the main campaign. Loving Firefight! The bad - Story (barely elaborated, Doom/Doom II have better storytelling). You're not trying Severed Steel for its story anyway. The ugly - Could use a bit more of optimization. Conclusion: A short yet solid game, quite a must play if you love shooters.
The good: - Beautiful ambiance, feeling and environments. - Weapon sounds and design (oh my, that bolt action rifle!) - Raytraced shadows and occlusion. The bad: - Bugs (autosaves sometimes don't remember enemies status, weapon switch blocks, movement issues (unable to turn around more than certain quantity of degrees). Had to quit and launch the game again because of these last two. - Crashes. The ugly: - Story kind of underwhelming. Could have been a little more elaborated in the same timespan. - RT does not reflect player, lighting on gun models isn't consistent sometimes. - Heavier optimization would have been nice, although certainly there's only so much we can ask for given the scope of the project. Conclusion: The potential is there, definitely. A short but mostly enjoyable experience. I hope to see more games from this studio.
