I.G.I. 2: Covert Strike

Worst game I ever tried! PC damage.

I had hopes for this game based on description and all, but I just tried it recently and it nearly damaged my PC. Installed fine, loaded fine and played first time fine, but when I got killed very quickly (not an easy game), I chose to restart of course and that is when everything went downhill. The game keeps crashing whenever you try to restart a mission and it crashes hard. No key you press does anything except the ESC key. I tried all manner of fixes and got no place, It just keeps crashing and it also did something to the functionality of my system. I uninstalled and spent almost 20 minutes fixing my system successfully. I will never install or play this malware again. I'm glad I got it on sale and did not pay much.

realMyst: Masterpiece Edition

The version I dreamed about

I played Myst (A number of it's incarnations) back when and have always wondered about a version where one could walk around instead of click and go because I love the immersive feel. Well, here it is! I like how one can choose to play it either in classic mode or "real" mode. The graphics of some things are not quite as good as the original, but its close. Well worth it on sale and even if you don't like puzzle games (I'm not a fan), but love immersive atmosphere and such. (Yeah, I play with a walkthrough guide, so what? I'm there for the atmosphere and such, not solving puzzles).

Medal of Honor™: Pacific Assault

Part of the classic series of MOH

This is another game I have the retail version of that doesn't even load on my modern system now. Plays just as I remember it - most enjoyable.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest

Just as I remember it - a real classic!

I still have my retail editions of these MOH games, but they do not work on my modern system at all. I was delighted to see them install and load when I purchased them from GOG. I'm very casual and I like to use cheats like GodMode and such and while I play through I enjoy just playing around breaking stuff, blowing stuff up or making "the enemy" do or say funny things and such. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because while Allied Assault and Spearhead played flawlessly, Breakthough has a nasty bug that I had to work through, but finally got it. (When you go to start the mission "Kaserstein pass" (I can't spell German words) the game crashes and sends you back to the menu. The only way to do it is using the cheat "maplist" and selecting it from there, then you are off and running through the rest of the game to the end. Highly recommend if you like FPS that are somewhat historical and if it is on sale of course.

Star Wars™: Rebel Assault 1 + 2

RA 1 hard to play due to age & graphics

This is one of very few Star Wars games I never played so when it was on sale I decided to try it. It came as Rebel Assault I and II. This is mainly about Rebel Assault 1: This game did not age well. To my surprise, I was able to get my joystick to work with little effort, but the graphics are so bad that I could barely make out what I was doing. Also, while my joystick did work, it was mildly quirky making the beginning canyon run a lot more challenging. I just could not get past the target practice mission though. It is too unstable and I was running it at 15FPS and 10FPS, but it made no difference. As for Rebel Assault 2 - this shows more promise as I was not only able to make the joystick work with no effort, but got through the first mission no problem. Not mad that RA 1 doesn't work, the sale price was worth it to just have RA 2
