I have played every Silent Hill by Team Silent except the Room. That changed today as I finished my first playthrough and I gotta say, this is hands down my favorite of the series. Combat. Just like every Silent Hill, the combat isn't anything special. Though there is a new charge attack that grants you brief invincibility when fully charged and does a lot of damage. It is very useful for crowd control and knocking enemies down. Controls Every Silent hill I played I used a controller, so this was my first time using mouse and keyboard. Only problem I had was turning and maybe scrolling through inventory, but if anything it added to my experience. Situations got more intense. Story Every little detail and lore was exactly what you expect from Silent Hill. I especially loved how everything came together in the end. Really enjoyed the antagonist as well, very well written. The Escort Listen, I absolutely and I mean ABSOLUTELY hate escort missions. So know this, the second half of Silent Hill 4 is an escort mission where depending on how well you protected your companion can determine your ending. That being said, I never felt like it was too hard and it added a layer of tension. Overall If you haven't played Silent Hill 4 it is definitely worth checking out. Though the second half can really make it or break it for some, I'd say push through it because what lies beneath is in my opinion the last great Silent Hill.
