The beggining of the much copied Action RPG. The graphics are dated being over 25 years old, but the game play is good very well designed game. Beware of special spitting dogs and Special Women in the Hell area these Archers can be deadly. Find a Shrine list to start some Shrines are not good but others are very helpful.
The graphics are dated now but its the gameplay that is awesome. Ahhhhh tonk tonk tonk Boom classic sound bite from this First Person Shooter. Multiplay is fun. BFG Big F----- Gun. The expansions are fun. Quad Damage. Yes Mr. Jumpy can make it across the Chasm lol. Secrets. Learn how to move fast running and to strafe from side to side. Quake 2 Multiplayer boards were even better. You've been Jonesed lol. If you jump in the water and land on wood plank below water you can make it to the most difficult mode. Quake 2 was dethroned by Unreal Tournament in 1999. The Atmosphere of Quake 1 is fantastic. To hear footsteps in the water from another player, To watch a player jump into lava to deprive you of another frag, To see a large light coming forward and know you may die behind that wall from the window you had been looking out. This is Quake. Quake Dethroned Doom and was Dethroned by UT Unreal and Unreal Tournament. When danger reers its ugly head Sir Robin Turned his tail and fled and hit the switches needed to kill the BMF. Is that Bigfoot with the power to harness Gulp Lightning. NIN's Trent Reznor Music on some versions. Need Amo and Med Kit badly. Enjoy all hardness levels.
It is your basic dungeon crawl with hidden places and fights. Spoiler - When you get to the practice yard put a weight on your mouse and go grab a sandwich and your level with weapons is much better when you come back. I had a lot of fun with the game about 20 years ago, but my new computer does not have a cd rom drive so I am picking up some of these classics that have been updated, less issues trying to get them to run than from old cd's. It is nice to have the hard copy / book manuals instead of pdf's though. Turn off the lights and enjoy a wonderful dungeon. Immerse yourself as you explore.
