Hollow Knight: Silksong

Hollow Knight? More like Hollow Pain!

I thought I was good at Hollow Knight. Nope. Still a noob worth it.

Cyberpunk 2077

Overhyped, Poorly Written Mess. T

Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that does not understand if it wants to be an RPG, an Action Game or something completely different and it fails as all three of them. 1. Writing: The Writing in this game is easily one of the worst aspects. Not only the plot is stupid, you have 0 agency in it. Your background doesn't matter. Your choices don't matter for the most part. And the endings are all downer because... reasons? Hell if I know. 2. Graphics: Enjoyable, probably one of the better aspects of it. 3. Combat: It's like a Far Cry game, sort of. Melee is very strong, but struggles against stupid exoskeleton bosses, which just knock you over 100% of the time. Netrunner and guns are way stronger, but can get repetitive. In fact, I don't understand how people can have more than 200 hours in this game. It's the only good thing about it. 4. My general thoughts: -Want a better RPG? Play Fallout New Vegas. -Want Better Cyberpunk like game? Play System Shock Remake. -Want a better action game? Far Cry series, Prototype Video Game, etc. Cyberpunk 2077 simply put is not a good game, nor is it an rpg. Witcher 3 is just better. At least you play as established character with backstory and the writing is somewhat good. Not this mess of V being so one dimensional and boring.

Baldur's Gate 3

Not Baldur's Gate 3? NO PROBLEM

I don't know about you, but I have never played Baldur's Gate 1 or 2. I have got no investment in the franchise or nostalgia goggles on my eyes. Having said that, the game is as good as it gets when it comes to emulating D&D 5e, while still maintaing it's own identity. The graphics are good, the system is based on 5e, which is one of the easiest to get into, especially when compared to games like Pathfinder 2e. Story is well written, at least based on EA and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it. Turn based gameplay may not be for everyone, but if you have never played isometric games because they looked archaic and hard to get into then it's probably one of the better games to start off with. It explains everything and if you need any help, you can look up Jocat's: CRAP GUIDE TO DND. Is it game of the decade? Hard to say for now. Is it possibly one of the best rpgs in recent times? Possibly. It's definitely not a game for casual players. "MY ACTIONS HAVE GOT CONSEQUENCES???" For those who do not fear failing speech checks and rolling with them, go ahead. If there is one annoyance I can give some validity is speech checks. Unlike Fallout New Vegas, where you succeed as long as your skill is equal or higher, here you roll for the success all the time. There are rerolls and save quick and quick load, but if you want to pass every speech checks (Why would you do that? Failing is part of the fun in the D&D and can lead to some unexpected consequences) then chances are you will do it at least a couple of times.

Alien Shooter 2: Reloaded

Classic, but still solid, despite flaws

Classic game from a childhood. It's one big kill everything run. However, that's both it's ultimate strength and weakness. Plot wise, it's okay, like, the plot is there only to have players kill the aliens. However, it's very meaty and fun seeing the floor red from all the corpses of the aliens you slay. Despite it aging quite a bit, it's very much a good game. Having said that, it's not without flaws. Difficulty levels are... odd. On the medium you can steamroll through most of the game easily enough. Hard? The aliens are far more tanky and you die more quickly. It would be okay, if you actually had means of killing stronger foes quickly. Once you get to shooting aliens, you will hate it, because of how durable they are. However, this is nothing compared to impossible. Impossible mode is well, impossible basically. I mean, you die quickly, all fights should be fought at a distance, the aliens deal a ton of damage, etc. However, the biggest problem is the sheer bullet spongeness of all enemies. At that level of difficulty, killing a single alien is incredibly hard, especially, the armoured ones. In fact, I would say, the best way to play the game is to play through first four levels at impossible or hard and then switching to medium. Because, the game is too easy on medium. Still, I can understand why I liked it so much. It's dumb fun, but so are many other games, like Prototype 1 (not 2, avoid that thing). Games should be fun first and this one? Well, I think it accomplishes it quite well, all things considered. 4/5.

Frostpunk: On The Edge

For a final DLC it felt... underwhelming

So, after playing through all the dlcs for Frostpunk (except for Rifts), I have to admit, I expected something... different. The idea was nice, what happens after the storm? However, what I got instead was the last autumn but in reverse. It also made my scratch my head, as it's possible to get New London fully automated and save everyone. Hardest difficulty may be a bit too much, but still, it's doable. So, what I got was searching for supplies and the whole favor system. It was way to abussable. Favour is average? Ask for supplies. I haven't even bothered with the child's mine on the first playthrough. And then, there was the warehouse. I mean... it was basically a glorified steel mine combined with tesla city or something. The fact that I could only send 20 people inside, not 50 like last autumn could combined with lack of any decision making in the warehouse made it more annoying than anything else. TLDR: I expected vehicles, threats, some more exploration. What I got was 'last autumn 2.0'.

Hollow Knight

A surprise, but a good one

Long story short, if there is one flaw the game has got, it's the fact that it's relatively unknown. As someone who played Dark Souls 2 and Bloodborne, both of which I have never finished, comparing the game to either of the two is doing the game a disservice. The game is hard, and it's challenging, but in a fair sort of way. If you mess up, you know why. The boss is too strong (some abilities help a lot with certain boss fights), you jumped too low, etc. To top it off, it's extremely rewarding. As you progress through the game, unlock new abilities, you feel the power. Gaining upgrades, beating bosses, unlocking new areas, it all blends nicely together. A quick tip for anyone who thinks of buying it: Jump>Dash>Attack Down is very useful against most opponents. I wish I had found it sooner, but at the very least Silksong is coming,
