This game is quite different from the Sands of Time episodes, and unfortunately was not very well received. It seems quite unfair to me because I love this game. Gameplay is really enjoyable, a little assisted but absolutely fun nonetheless. The new artistic direction is fantastic and both world and characters are beautiful. The game is relatively easy as you cannot die, which was a source of criticism, but if you look at games since then, you will notice that you cannot die from falling in many of these games, so this argument seems irrelevant to me, at least regarding the jumping sequences. Swordplay is based on timing and counter attacks, and is not as important as in the Sands of Time series. What makes this a great game is simply the fun and pleasure you gain from the amazing jumping sequences all over the well-built world. My only regret is that the PC version lacks the real ending that was available on console in a DLC.

This game is still as fun as it used to be. I recommend using DXX-Rebirth, as it enables high resolution (well of course models are still low-polygons), 16/10 aspect ratio and good controller support, while still retaining the original feeling. I personnaly play with the Xbox 360 controller and it's really confortable. This game is stil unmatched and really brings a lof of fun.
