This war of Mine, despite its simplicity and lack of details in some areas was a frustrating, saddening but satisfying game. The permanent death of your characters, their suffering and to an extent their backgrounds and stories make all of your actions feel important. Who eats, sleeps, scavenges...kills. Who can you afford to loose, if anyone. Also what you scavenge and how you do it. It took me several attempts to complete and even then I only killed one person. The surprise and relief was one of my best experiences in years. TWM left me wanting more. More details characters, situations and depth. Its a rough gem with the good more than outweighing the bad. If you find yourself wanting to try something different or you are a fan of survival games you owe it to yourself to check it out.
