Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition

From mediocre to Best RPG in years

I have played the original Divinity Original Sin. I was not overly impressed. My review should be still around the original version. This review aims mainly to the people who didn't enjoy the game that much before. So please consider this before reading further on. This enhanced version feels almost like a totally new game. Your characters now shout battlecries as you obliterate the enemies. The game is fully voiced, from your companions to your duo of main characters. There's extra quests, the existing dialogs have been refined to be more sensible and less of a big joke like they used to be. Companions previously being a little more than comic relief now have serious backgrounds that make sense and are totally epic. No more lore breaking dialogs. Like a dialog mentioning testosterone filled men. I mean testosterone in a mediaval-like setting. C'mon. The already great graphics have improved. Not much to say here. Refined UI, more skills more of everything. If you didn't like the game too much before. Now it is the time to replay. As a sidenote, not only this enhanced version is the best enhanced version of ~any~ game i have ever played claiming to be "enhanced" but it's FREE for people who previously bought the game. Kudos to you Larian Studios! Now stop reading this review and go play the game!

Divinity: Original Sin Classic

Breaks Immersion

So, you want to partake in an epic story. That's good. You want to talk to animals that can predict the future, or maybe find smelly underwear to wear? But maybe you wish to know how it will all end by the ominous entity staring at you? Oh sorry that's the end credits there. Or hunt a great evil that has layed traps to teleport you back to the entrance of the dungeon like a giggling five year old. Well that's Divinity Original Sin in a nutshell. A parody movie never expect something serious to happen as you explore the world feeling like your friends are cracking fart jokes on you. When it does happen there's plenty of kidengarden jokes or comical relief characters to make it count. The characters are nothing to write home about though there's some nice concepts there that are ruined again by humourus events and stories involving them If you thnk you would enjoy the humour / parody style then it should be a five star game for you or just in for the combat. Otherwise tread carefully. I agree that the coop is intuitive and fun, the turn based combat is stellar and the graphics give you a taste of what this generation's top down RPGs should look
