Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs

Great game, and actually quite hard!

A great game that mixes childish humour in with an actually quite hard game where you can easily fail if you aren't expecting it. The dungeons are pretty hard, and the equipment and skills you get do help boost your characters up but not to OP levels. There are a few bugs however, many of the skill morphs don't actually work, and some of the text based side quests have infinite loops in :/ So it's great, but wait for a patch unless you can put up with them

Urban Empire

Badly optimised, needs a patch!

This starts off quite interesting but you quickly lose the will to play after the first hour or so, as the game is very unoptimized and lags horrible after you've built a few districts. Also, upgrading your districts is a lesson in tedium, having to click on each one seperately in order to upgrade it. There's not much else to it other than pushing through policies which are pretty much no brainers.

Independence War™ II: Edge of Chaos

Space piracy done right

This is a big game with fantastic space travel. You start off and your father has been killed by a corporation, leaving a little boy pilot named Cal to make his own way, with his military AI friend Clay (from the first I-war I think), and the first chapter is how you get into a bit of trouble and end up thrown in prison for life. Next chapter starts and you're grown up, and have friends in prison - and you stage a jailbreak, bringing them all with you. You escape to your Aunt's secret lair, a known space pirate, which is your home base for the rest of the game. Now you're a space pirate... And you can travel through space, and hijack freighters belonging to whomever you like, certain factions like you more, certain factions like you less. You know what, writing this has got me all nostalgic. I'm going to play it.

A bug ridden Mount and Blade clone

Currently broken in many places at launch, but trying to ignore them when writing this. It's basically a mod to M&Bs Warband engine, and as such it plays and looks very similar to M&B. If you enjoyed M&B, you will probably enjoy this for a bit. I presume it'll be patched at some point to fix the issues. I didn't experience the crashes of the other review, I just experienced broken features. Just can't recommend it to anyone sadly.

Zafehouse: Diaries

Extremely good

I read the other reviews, especially about the difficulty, and yep, that's right, it's pretty much impossible to do. The latest patch introduces "No survivors" mode however, which is a lot easier, and you can last a while by barricading yourself inside. There are a few problems, such as barricades suddenly breaking down after one or two hits, without any real feedback, leaving your safehouse in ruins, or dilemmas in game which are just to screw you without any fault on your behalf. However, that's where modding comes in - the game is easily moddable, and you can even add your own classes in, and import your friends pictures, and locations, to make the place your own. I really enjoyed this, especially for the bargain price here at Gog. It really needs more people to play it!
