I came in expecting a similar experience to the first installment and while at their core both games are similar, Frostpunk 2 cranks it up a notch. The increased political aspect of walking a fine line to balance all factions' favour or simply choosing a side makes it very intriguing. I enjoyed the large scale that came with Frostpunk 2, particularly with regards to exploring the frostlands and setting up colonies. Managing multiple cities at the same time and keeping all factions happy gives you plenty to do. I've never had to fast forward since there's almost always something on hand! If you enjoyed the first I'd say the second is definitely worth a try, but remind yourself that it's a different experience. In my opinion both are at the same level.
