Pretty harmless "bejeweled clone" with some added sexiness, if anime is your thing. DO NOT expect this game to resemble a dating sim, its not, your answers to the questions you get asked by the girls in the game are tailored to each girl, not your own personal preferences, keep that in mind. This GoG version is censored, but there is a patch out there to get the "full version". Don't expect a masterpiece in a game, but instead an adult fun time waster. For those saying "get a girlfriend" or "go watch porn instead", this hurts no-one, let people enjoy what they want, even things like this.
When I first played this, shortly after it came out, i was blown away by its graphics, sound, atmosphere, fear factor, just plain everything. The BFG edition did take away from that, but only slightly. Everyone complained that a "space marine" doesn't have a light in his suit or mounted on a weapon? Legitimate question, however, this took some of the fear away from the game, as being in the dark was something you would have to sacrifice carrying a weapon to illuminate, being able to light areas and still have a weapon in your hand makes this less scary. None the less, i loved doom 3, so much so that Doom (2016) dissapointed me for taking all the fear out, and only recently go around to finishing it. My tip for this is to play the game without using your flashlight, to truly be thrust into a scare factor.
This game is so close on so many fronts, for starters prospective buyers should understand that there isn't much gameplay in this game, it should be considered as a visual novel with a few "quicktime" events thown in which brings me to my next, so close, the story. It came so close to being really well written and thought out but when the story sucked me in, the next scene it let it go, or underdeveloped what had already been established. Without spoiling anything, the ending really fell flat on its face, but I can describe why without going into spoilers, something I won't do. For me personally it just came so close to being something I pondered long after playing it, but the lack of substance and the story falling down at many points had me dissapointed. As the title states, so close, really, so close......
Simply breathtaking. This game answers the question on whether or not games are art. At some point you will probably cry, as all elements are brought in such a delicate way that even the most stoic person will find something that touches them. I played this months ago and from time to time I still find myself still thinking about it. Not much "action" in this title, if that's what you're looking for, you'll find it elsewhere, but if you're looking for a wonderful story, told in a unique way, then get this title. I will say it is a little short, clocking in at about 2-4 hrs of gameplay, with not much except the wonderful story to draw you back to playing it again. Worth a purchase.
