Call of Cthulhu®

The character interaction is terrible

When it comes to general look and feel of the game it's competent. The areas look nice, gloomy and have character. It actually looks like something that would be nice to explore. This game has one major but, to be clear I'm a huge mythos fan and can forgive a lot but the writing is awful. Downright awful. To give you an example, during the intro someone comes in to talk to you. He makes hugely offensive statements and then just glosses over that. It's like watching an android. In later stages characters will go from angry and distant to emotional and scared over the time span of a sentence. It's just highly unbelievable and jarring to boot. Voice acting is great, but the material the characters had to work with is downright awful.

Katana ZERO

Solid gameplay, interesting story

Sometimes you find a little gem in an otherwise endless stream of turds. Katana Zero is one of these gems. The gameplay core is slicing your way through bunches of enemies with a timeslow mechanic. Interestingly enough the dev was able to weave it all into the story. The story is short but doesn't overstay its welcome and actually made me want more. Looking forward to see what the Dev will do in the future. Katana Zero is enjoyable and should be picked up by anyone who likes a good story and likes tightly designed combat.
