I see many nostalgia driven reviews which praise this game here so I feel the following needs to be said: this game is full of glitches and flaws. Let me explain. First of all, Red Faction was released after games like Deus Ex or Thief and it lacks a lot of stuff that was introduced into gaming by those games, like side dialogues, interacting with NPCs etc. Sure, you get the Geo-Mod which is pretty cool, but the rest of the physics feels way too old than it should. I got stuck between two objects a couple of times and ugh, that mission with driving a jeep... it's just horrible. Also, you can't move any crates or basically anything around and the NPCs in game are awfully stupid. Dialogues and responses are repetitive ("I'm on your side!" says the guy who just called the guards to kill me). The stealth mission is disappointing at best, especially compared to the above mentioned classics. The scripting is also a bit stupid: most events are triggered by walking into a given area which in consequence cause a couple of silly dialogues. Oh, and the plot is centralised around nano-engineered plague and evil corporation. Sounds familiar? Ok, enough ranting. To make it short: I think the creators of RF wanted to achieve too much at a one time: if this was just a generic FPS but with vehicles and Geo-Mod, I wouldn't have anything against it. But after playing Deus Ex, Thief, Unreal, System Shock 2 and others... RF feels like a rushed rip off. There, I said it. Sorry, die-hard fans.

It isn't! Sure it's not perfect, but I think what killed it the most is all this hype around this game. If you forget for a second how popular slender got, and why, and focus only on playing the game, you get a decent horror. It features a high dose of suspense and to me it feels a lot like a classic horror or Hitchcock's thriller, and not a bloodbath (since this is what most "horrors" nowadays are), and thus fits perfectly on GoG. HOWEVER, if you seek a balanced, thoroughly tested game (Slenderman can spawn right in front of you, if you're unlucky-very annoying bug) which can be replayed many times, or a gore game, or a thrilling story, this may not be for you.

It's a solid game with decent gameplay, funny plot and funnier sounds (in a nostalgic way, of course) I gave this game 3 stars only because of the price. It is low, yeah, but for the same 6 bucks you can get Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project (which is basically an improved version of this release), and other way better games. So, imo, you should buy this game after you'd bought others, or if you're a big fan of Duke, like myself.

Every genre has its classics, and Duke Dukem 3D is one of the best shooters out there, along with Doom II and Quake 1. Even though it's rather old, I still believe it is better than most of the recent shooters. Why should you go back in time and play it? First of all, no health regeneration. I'm so sick and tired of this, every single game from past 5-8 years must have health regeneration. Not Duke, here you have good old medkits and powerups. In addition, this game has some really good puzzles. I was actually surprised by how this game is "undukish" at times-usually when you hear good old shooter you don't expect this kind of brain work. So be warned, you'll have to use your brain from time to time (which is great to me). Moreover the gameplay and controls are very good. Finally, you're allowed to jump, crouch and look up and this gave a birth to a whole different level of challenge. So yeah, no more awkward moments when you can't reach a ledge ridiculously close to you. And finally, humor. Duke's one-liners are so awesome you'll keep on laughing through the game. There are many jokes, references and easter eggs in this game, I won't list them here because I don't want to spoil the fun. Tl;dr: BUY THIS GAME, NOW!
