Panzer Knights

Great styling, poor mechanics.

Basically if you've played World of Tanks, then you no doubt understand the controls and likely have a decent idea of the overall gameplay. And the artistic style is pretty cute, fun and continued throughout the game, if a little overdone with 'character' appearances and dialogue. The variety of vehicles and the realistic control, such as slow heavy armoured tanks taking great difficulty with traversing terrain, or quick light armoured nimble Panzer II or III'S being very fast and efficient. The mechanics of the game are severely lacking, and when considering what the developers were likely aiming for, could be thought of as none existent. World of Tanks have mechanics that make the game tactical, for example a bush or a rock will provide you cover, one is visible cover, the other is hard defensive cover. But the tanks in that game have mechanics that make it a fair fight, rocks or ground can be used to reduce your silhouette so the enemy has less of target to shoot at, buildings and other destroyed tanks be used as a shield to stop shells from hitting you. This game does not do that, think of it as the most poorly implemented arcade version of what someone thinks World of Tanks is. I tried to use a rock to hide behind whilst firing at a group of enemy tanks, the rounds went through the rock. The odd chance the enemy misses is a miracle, and the majority of the time you will be fighting against tanks that can absolutely pound you in the dust. You think the enemy will target you from afar, which they do, and they hit you from afar. But the enemy will bum rush up to you in as short a time as possible to get a point blank shot. The enemy tanks are completely immobile until you shoot them or get within five foot of them. As in, they will not even recognise you exist until you engage them first. The game could have been amazing, the style is banking on the Girls Und Panzer stereotype, but the mechanics are abysmal and the re-playability is completely pointless.
