DO NOT use Steam. It just is too wonky. GOG has specifically made tweaks so that this works on modern Windows machines very well. You just download it and play. And it actually works. As for the game itself, just get it. It's fantastic and has 3x more soul to it than Fallout 4. This is the best Fallout game. The story, the quests, the world, everything is so full of charm that it makes you want to spend all your time playing. Get the game, play it, and watch as your life is changed forever.
Wow! I mean... wow! What an amazing JRPG. I cannot believe that I've slept on this for so long. I love JRPGS but somehow this gem of a game had stayed hidden from me until now, with this re-release from the saintly, GOG. All I can say is just get it. Simply add it to your cart and check out right away. This is one experience you don't want to miss. Perferct port. Wonderful keyboard controls, excellent controller support, zero glitches, and stellar audio. All in support of one of the most exciting adventures I've ever experienced in a JRPG. Just play it. It is the classic that started BioWare off to make amazing games but don't think for a second that this isn't worth your time... it 100% is. I honestly believe this to be a crowning moment in video game history with the release of this game and the Enhanced Editition only makes it better. Thank you Beamdog for your great effort in bringing this to the modern day. I will be forever grateful :)
This version is the THE way to play Diablo 1. Don't bother buying D1 on Battle.net, they did a poor job on making it run on modern systems. But, once again, GOG pulls through by creating the absolute definitive version to play Diablo 1. This game is extremely good and I highly recommend you give this one a shot. If not for the utter joy in gameplay than to see where it all began.
