Anvil of Dawn

Meh

I remember liking this game when playing it years ago, but coming back to it, it's just...Not bad. But not brilliant. It's hard as nails. I don't like the D&D style '1d8' weapon stats. New weapons are rare, but when you get one, you keep your current because you've levelled up that type of weapon. Picking up a weapon doesn;t tell you the class. You get Thrusting, Hacking, Slashing and Ranged. I got a warhammer and I legit have no idea what weapon class to level up, it doesn;t tell you. Most items have no description, it takes you forever to level up. But then it's not really levelling, personally I don't know if it even does anything. Magic regeneration if you have no void items takes literal hours. The inventory screen is a mess, should have been a grid. Your character constantly gets tired, even if you are under your carry weight limit. Overworld looks good and dungeon layouts are okay. Lore is good, story generic, but not bad. Some monsters look great, some look lame, so artistically the game is good, it's just how it actually plays.
