You would be hard pressed to find another game in this genre that stands anywhere near as good as this one. The developer (being one guy) is highly active and is responsive to the community. Its not uncommon that he will hold discussions with the community on things they may want him to add to the game. In some cases, the modding community makes decent mods and the developer asks for permission to add the mods to the base game, and it gets added as part of the base game. As for my in-game experience, this is one of the games I have spend the most time playing. Regardless of its lower price point, I find it has more playability than most other titles with larger price tags. The replay ability factor in this game is rather significant. When you are choosing where to place your capital city, you have a large variety of factors to consider. The fertility of the land which directly effects how much food your farms can produce, the materials in the land such as clay, metal, coal etc which can make a significant impact on your industry. what race you are choosing as your starting race, as they like different types of climates, wither its hot or cold or temperate which can effect fatality rate due to freezing or burning to death (also effected by your chosen starting race). So even if you build one successful city, your next game you can try building in a different region to have a totally separate string of challenges not found on other maps. There's a metric ton I can say about this game, but I had to delete a lot of my review due to word count. But if your looking at this game, you wont regret getting it, its just too polished. Its still in development and just getting better, but its already in a state that it can be deemed as a polished game. To note, I have over 200 hours of game time thus far.
