After 124 hours and 47 minutes I've finally finished Pathfinder:Kingmaker Enhanced Edition and I must say that I had fun nearly 99% of the time. In many cases the game is like old school cRPGs - hard, detailed, unforgiving, and doesn't care about the time you had invested in your playthrough. You didn't visit one exact location during the quest? Shame on you, cause now you don't have a best Treasurer advisor. You want to get every achievement just by playing once? No way. Best ending in a first try? Only if you are a future teller or stick to the really detailed guide. I admit, I ain't Sherlock Holmes, but I think that story was pretty decent and certainly was a good excuse for exploring new dungeons. Sure, sometimes mechanics are unclear, and some encounters are ridiculously difficult but these are just challenges not flaws. For every seems-like-an-impossible-to-beat enemy there are always at least a few ways to beat. It just depends how much time you can invest in it. This also changes with the style you are playing, and chosen team members. For example not using Death Ward spell will cause you a serious headaches. But I shouldn't go into details. Summarizinig: every single player game that can give me over 100 hours of good story, fun characters, and great gameplay deserves 5 stars rating.
