A Building Full of Cats

Finishes what CFOC started

The Secret of Mana (Flawed Masterpiece) of Cat-finding games. Gameplay- Return of the Obra Dinn meets Welcome to Mamoko. Story - Shatterhand II meets Code Veronica (Shatter= Scatter, hand = cat) (Code = Cat, Veronica = On the Veranda) Graphics- Not as expansive as CFOC, but music is actually quite good in the nuclear bunker. Controls - As with CFOC, my daughter seems pretty adept at randomly clicking on cat faces. Conclusion-if you like CFOC, this is a worse, easier, shorter version of that game. However it will scratch the itch, the Nugent kind, not Bartonella henselae. The devs have a clear sense of humor and the Castlevania references of CFOC and general goofiness of the game are spot on for kids.

A Castle Full of Cats

Best in genre

The Chrono Trigger of Cat-finding games. Gameplay- I Wanna to be the Guy meets Where's Waldo (Waldo is cat, in this case) Story - Planescape Torment meets Firewatch (If the nameless one was a cat and if you replace fire with cats) Graphics- Does for the cat-finding genre what Spirits Within did for FF. Controls - Sometimes my daughter clicks on cats and other times, very close to them. Pretty seamless. Conclusion-Good luck finding the rarest cat of them all, it was programmed by cat artisans who work exclusively in the medium of cats.
