Total Annihilation: Commander Pack

The Game is Broken

I played through the first five missions, eager to engage in some nostalgia. Unfortunately I can't continue due to fundamental problems in the program. When the objectives of mission 5 of the Arm side were fulfilled, I got the chime, but the level kept going. Audio is utterly wrecked, the music randomly getting louder and quieter and not changing when needed. The sound and music volumes have somehow ended up linked as well. Overall this is a terrible port and it needs to be fixed.

Dungeon Keeper™ 2

The Nostalgia Goggles Do Nothing

For as much as I remember enjoying this as a kid, I've been quickly realising that it doesn't hold up to the test of time - level design is not in any way equal, with the difficulty being all over the place; creature moods are far too variable, with creatures rebelling for no explicable reason, complaints about bad mood when they're heading for the very place they want. Calls for specific rooms get incredibly tiresome on levels when there's absolutely no way of actually making those rooms in any functional way. And yet despite all these misgivings, I do still enjoy a good chunk of it.
