No Man's Sky

Decent

Ok, after all the hype and the disappointing launch I point blank refused to buy it. Another developer launching a half finished game and coining it in and then "fixing it" then turning off the servers a fortnight later. How wrong was I!? I waited until the game was patched, on sale and then took the plunge. Yes it is a bit repetitive, but that's what you expect for a game that requires resource gathering and building. It is visually stunning and incredibly easy to loose hours in it. Interacting with alien civilisation, learning key words so you can translate is interesting, as is avoiding the sentinel bots that attack as soon as you do something silly like try to steal resources. Personally I really like this game. Not quite love, there is some room for improvement, but 20 odd quid for hundreds of hours lost time in a fantasy world scanning and harvesting anything that moves before moving into the next is well worth it in my opinion. I have it on PS4 and PC now, and each port is slightly different. The PC is by far the better of the two! The best bit for me? No microtransactions, no purchasing updates and add-ons (they are free = a breath you of fresh air and no annoying 13 year olds using bots and mods whilst shouting profanities. Just good old fashioned, slower paced, visually stunning gaming!
