Metal Fatigue was cursed from the get-go. The publishing team fell apart during release so the game didn't get the attention it deserved. Customisable metal robots? Check Different damage types on weapons and armours? Check 3 fields of battle for unique and simultaneous fighting? Check Terrible pathfinding AI? Check. All the hallmarks of an amazing RTS that is challenging and so damn cool it shaped my imagination for years. I've still got the original CD, and I was extremely lucky to have had it.
It's very similar to MoO2 in many ways, but not in others. First up let me correct Dylfin... there is starvation if you don't have enough food importing or growing. I don't know what game he played but that's totally there. The tactical battles are clearly not finished yet but in the latest dev blog they're talking about those improvements. Remember, this is Early Access... The game is beautiful and the sound is eargasmic, but the AI isn't finished yet. If you're on the fence, wait for a bit but I'm already certain this game will turn out great for release.
