The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is my favorite Elder Scrolls title and one of the greatest RPGs ever made. Cyrodiil’s vibrant open world—alive with bustling cities, lush forests, and dynamic NPCs—delivers an immersive adventure that still captivates in 2025. The GoG version includes all DLCs (Shivering Isles, Knights of the Nine, Fighter’s Stronghold, Mehrunes’ Razor, Thieves Den, Horse Armor, and more), a 4GB patch for improved performance, and no DRM for unrestricted play, though minor issues and occasional crashes persist — save often and skip autosaves! Its fully moddable nature also allows you to enhance visuals and gameplay, ensuring endless replayability. Jeremy Soule’s breathtaking soundtrack and top-notch voice acting enhance a gripping story, weaving epic battles against the Oblivion Crisis with unforgettable journeys into Sheogorath’s mad realm. Guilds like the Mages Guild and Dark Brotherhood deliver rich storytelling, while side quests like “Whodunit?” are pure brilliance. The magic system, spanning Alteration, Conjuration, Destruction, Illusion, Mysticism, and Restoration, outclasses Skyrim’s, with custom spell crafting for unique effect combinations. The attribute system (Strength, Willpower, etc.), absent in Skyrim, deepens character growth and progression. Endearing quirks like odd AI and dated visuals enhance its charm, while Oblivion’s boundless customization and epic quests solidify its status as a timeless RPG masterpiece.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is one of the best RPGs ever made. Not only is it my personal favorite Elder Scrolls game but it is one of my favorite games of all time. The GoG version comes DRM-free with the 4GB patch built in. If you are an RPG fan or an Elder Srolls fan, this game is a mandatory purchase.
This is a fantastic release that includes Doom, Doom II, Final Doom (both TNT and Plutonia), Master Levels for Doom II, No Rest for the Living, SIGIL (wow), and Legacy of Rust which is a brand new episode in collaboration with id Software, Nightdive Studios, and MachineGames). My only gripes is that SIGIL 2 was not included and the Playstation version of Doom was not included, but beides that, this is one of the best official Doom releases ever.
