Played a couple levels. Just as unimaginative as the first game, but the enemies are weird and do tons more damage. Plus they like environmental hazards here. So dodging enemy shots is a bit too risky. Couple that with LOAD TIMES TIED TO FRAMERATE. Want your game without screen tearing? Wait for a couple minutes every time you load. New weapons are... Spiritual successors to the base game. Unsatisfying and borderline unusable. I'm not doing it. Play any other shooter. It'll likely be better.

The base campaign plays and feels like Serious Sam 2 with 10 times less enemies, tons of ammo, and subsequently no real challenge, since the majority of the enemies are slow melee types. Difficulty stays this way until 70% of the camaign, where it gets kind of tricky at times. Most weapons seem pointless and don't have any impact. Just awkward pea shootes. Music is alright. Not something i would listen to outside of the game, but it's enjoyable. The expansion however is much better. Still like 20 enemies at screen, but they are semi-hitscanners and toss explosives AND have not an insignificant heath pool. So this becomes interesting. New assault rifle finally feels like a weapon, compared to base game ones. Here music is much more fitting and... Better? I just like it more. Main bosses are all gimmick levels with semi-coherent mechanics. No in-game tips about them either. So that aspect of the game just outright sucks. Oh and there are even interactable physics. For some reason. It's a good horde shooter. But half of the main campaign is just trivial and boring.

Was captivated by bugs at release, stayed for the story and exploration, replayed 7 times for gameplay. Even with all the cut content and grand(er) plans for the game, nothing could top this one for me, it's just awesome.

Far better than BFE. Just as challenging as the first two encounters. Ton of cool secrets and traps, no shortage of ammo, lots of stuff to shoot. Turn off the character voices and you get the best game in the series. Large open spaces are there and are indeed completely pointless. But at least there aren't as many invisible walls as there were in BFE. So it feels fine.
