[Finished in No Pain No Gain: Insanity 1] I have played Shadow Warrior (1997), but this is my first time playing one of the reboot. I really love the combat in this game, but it overemphasizes on looting which breaks the phasing for me. While I have manage to obtain plenty of weapons and upgrades, the enemies are exetremely tough (bullet sponges) that could take me hours to kill them all. I once fought a large superior herculon with health regeneration that took me 2 HOURS to kill. Right now I am playing in Insanity 5, stuck in 3rd mission. Some enemies are reskin of different faction like 2 variant of scoropions (Zilla's and demon) making fighting dull overtime. Once I got the hang of the overall mechanics, I start to enjoy it the more I play. I can choose my loadout based on my preference or just switch things up. I can go full melee if I want to. This the main selling point of this game. My only complain is the repetative combat dialogues. There should be a mute option. The level design lacks variety and the level generator is unpolish. It reuses 3 different main environments; Shadow Hill, Town, and Zilla's City. Sometimes it would generate maps that over extend out of invisible walls. I actually got stuck in one of them, so I had to reload my profile to respawn to a better spot. Also, I'll see loots that are in accessible. These bugs I tyipically seen in Zilla's city and Town. This happens regularly making looting frustraiting. Due to the fast-pased action, I would often dash off edges, or worst; I retreat to a safer area just for the enemy to respawn. Overall it becomes stale and irritating to playthrough. If it wasn't for the robust combat, I would have uninstall this game. I really got nothing to say about the story and characters other than I find Reboot Lo Wang to be lame, so I'll end it here. This a decent modern boomer shooter with RPG elements from 2016. If you can't enjoy the combat through grinding, then this isn't for you.
I played this game on pursuit (hardest difficulty), it is abysmal. This was meant to be play on lower difficulty since you'll need be using the instinct mechanics; it enables see through wall, enemy pattern, and disguised boost. In pursuit, you only get disguised boost. Most level designs are very linear, so strick that every move must be timed perfectly or else you are punished. The disguised is basically a camoflauge. It's only use to minimze quicker detection, except for rarest disguises. The save system is broken, there is no way I can overwrite my first playthrough. Even if I start a comepletely new playthrough, it will still reload the first playthrough saved progress. In some maps, the restart checkpoint just completely breaks the AIs supposed walking pattern, they are just stuck or vanished completely.
I hate how this PC version is basically a console port. I can't measure my range of attacks. I can't see what weapon I am holding unless I zoom in. No guides for weapons. GAMEPLAY IS WAY TOO SLOW! Just everything is a mess. But everybody is complaining about multiplayer. When the gameplay is utterly terrible.
This is my first time playing Grim Danfango and got it for free. So far I'm loving the art style, character, settings, music, dialogues, and puzzles. Suddenly when I launch and reload my save file, Manny won't stop moving and my keybinds were mulfunction. What I did is restart my playthrough and set game settings to default, but still doesn't work. Then I reinstall the game and it did fixed the technical issues, yet another bug appeared. The inventory scrolls non stop. If I can't manage my inventory, then it's basically unplayable. So I have to reinstall it AGAIN and it didn't work! I think the issues is in the cloud file itself or what ever it is I'm unable to progress.
WARNING; THERE IS NO CONTROLLER SUPPORT NOR A 2 PLAYER SUPPORT The King of Fighters 2002 is one of the best fighting game out there. But just buy The King of Fighters 1998 & 2002 Unlimited Match (a remastered version) available on Steam that includes all what you need for a fighting game like online matches. What you get here is just lazy emulation of arcade version, so no other modes available and no way of rebinding controls. Even the key instruction is inaccurate.
