This game checks all the boxes. + Gameplay - easy to pick up, but both the strategic planning and tactial combat keep you on your toes at all times. Factions are diverse, yet well balanced. + Unique mechanics - upgrading units changes them dramatically, necesity to terraform terrain to cap resources, bonus armor in cities etc. + Atmosphere - Dark, gothic arwork, wonderful 2D graphics + beautiful animations. Gloomy, intense story and soundtrack. + Around 200 units with unique artwork & animations (including upgrades) + Length - it should take a couple days to plow through all the campaigns and scenarios. + Multiplayer + Nostalgic quality - played it as a kid and it's still as good as I remember. + Bang for you buck • Does not support higher resolution. Forget about widescreen. - Somewhat difficult to run on newer OS (Win11 in my case). The forum and the ConfigEditor in the game files will hopefully have your back though.
