Lara Croft is an icon and Core gets props for that, but they ran into a wall with AOD and tried to go the RPG route, they just failed. It happens but maybe if they had gotten a second chance they could have done something cool? The upgrade system wasn't a bad idea, just took too long, and the development seemed really rushed on AOD. I mean the first Tomb Raider game was fun but it had its issues, the controls weren't perfect and it was too much adventure, they got it right with TR II, perfect blend of action and adventure, and TR III kept things going on. But AOD just went boom and Eidos handed things over to CD who did Legends which rocked, a remastered original, and then the excellent reboot. Now I'm tempted to look for the reboot... haven't played it in years.
I installed the game, the installation is in two parts which is odd, usually there's one setup file and boom, this has a setup file and a bin file. The minute I go to run the game it says D3DCOMPILER_47.DLL is missing. I ran a search, the file is on my system in various locations, I tried moving a copy to the Stubbs directory but then that caused another error involving d3d11.dll. Tried reinstalling directx but it just finishes saying it is already installed. Something is missing but I can't figure out what.
