Carmageddon: Max Damage

Almost excellent on Windows 10 Boot Camp

I invested in Carmageddon: Reincarnation via KickStarter way back when in response to their promise of a Mac version. I repeatedly pestered Stainless for it. It all came to naught. Digging into the subject I found that Stainless had 3D programmed themselves into a corner using Microsoft's proprietary DirectX technology rather than OpenGL or other. Because they used DirectX 11, that killed off any possibility of Carmageddon: Reincarnation or MaxDamage running on Macs, Linux, or in virtualization programs of any kind. I pestered the virtualization companies as well! No luck. - - Therefore, giving up on alternatives, I dove into the murk that is installing Apple's Boot Camp with Windows 10 on my MacBook Pro 15" 11,3 with NVIDIA GPU and 16 GB RAM. After that hell was over, I found both Carmageddon: Reincarnation and MaxDamage running WONDERFULLY on my MacBook Pro! I'm stunned and love it. Everything is as great as I'd expect from the comedic, violent lunatics at Stainless. If not of the convolutions required to be able to play the games on my Mac and the broken promise, I'd give them 5 stars. It's close to excellent; Never boring; Great graphics; Rich maps, powerups, peds and car upgrades. Full of humor and Easter egginess at every turn. Bravo! I'm very glad I invested. My favorite has game joined the 21st century.
