Vampire®: The Masquerade - Bloodlines™

Still holds up

Was phenomal back then and still is. Some things ages poorly like Malkavian, Chinatown, etc. but its still a huge title.

Mortal Shell

Great Soulslike

If you are into Soulslikes you cant go wrong here. Much smaller, less epic, but some really cool mechanics and animations. I still had some sound and visual bugs, but if you grab it in a sale, deffo a must. 3-4 Stars, I give it 4, because it ticks a lot of boxes and I really like the combat mechanics.

Miasma Chronicles

Could be really good, but...

...the devs lost the plot so many times. They started so strong with Mutant Year Zero and came to this game. The best of Miasma Chronicles is the world. It looks really exciting to go around there, but I wish what I wished for MYZ: Make these worlds fully explorable RPGs, like Wasteland or old school Fallout. There is no wishing for replaying it, when its done. I never bothered in respecing the chars or try out many Miasma Powers, because there was not so much to try out, if the game follows just a straight line. I could summon a healer (OP power) and chain lightning groups. It was all so damn useful from start to finish. I encountered so many interesting locations, but sidequests are mostly easy and quickly done. The quirkyness of MYZ was not here and the humor didnt always work. On a technical point of view it has so many issues, too. I can save and load all time, but no Quick Safe and Quick Load option. Why? Feels like devs on the one hand want to keep it in, but on the other make the players life harder. And if you have a combat system to try around a % number and you dont want reloads until a shot lands, develop a different system or make it a fully playable RPG. And you need that, because the enemies have extreme range and accuracy. Cover or not, they ht hard and I counted. The whole playthrough enemy missed 5 times. FIVE! Of course I need to reload constantly to get the best result. What kind of system is that? On top its so buggy and very often things didnt work. "Tackle" was just move, but no tackle. EMP grenades dont shock robots. Jades Warcry didnt boost aggro. The list is endless. It didnt happen every fight, but the whole game. Graphical bugs, too. 4 crashes. How can such a game be in this state? Or you start an ambush, realise one character is in a bad spot, you quit the ambush and all others get teleported to you, after you plotted it all so carefully. Infuriating. Compare price to Clair Obscur. Could tell so much more...

Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew Complete Edition

Bittersweet ending

Its sad that Mimimi couldnt win with their approach. They revived a whole genre and made the best games for it and all their mechanics, systems and creative ideas culminate into this game. Shadow Gambit expands on all the past work and all comes together. Should be played by all fans of the genre and hopefully beyond. Still leaves the question, what could have come after that. Artstyle is great, nice characters, creative skills and every plan working feels so great, while you get so many combinations to win.
