Against the Storm

Nice sim, challenging.

It's different than other city builders because it challenges you to make choices. In quests and rewards, that's a nice extra. Suddenly you realize you've been playing for hours.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

Fantastic!

As the earlier title, "kingmaker" this game shines for rpg / dungeon and dragons/ pathfinder lovers. The freedom and extensive choice of characterbuilding is just mind blowing and the story, just like in "kingmaker" will take you on a marvelous journey.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker

Fantastic - one little flaw

A 5 star. Even with the very hard management of the real. There's no way to get those in a nice pace, especially in the beginning. But it doesn't get much better later on. But the rpg game itself and acuiering more lands to rule is really something else. It's BG2 style, but more intense.

Give it a chance

Yes, the randomness can be frustrating. Yes, you can seriously be unlucky. However to a great extend it is a very cool new way of gaming. Up to now I only survived 6 weeks or so on easy level, but it does matter how you make decisions. That said, the punishment in the game is severe. I also feel it's a bit too hard the way the die go down, especially if stasis AND void AND injury drop your options to impossible. If things go your way, you'll have full die and extra for research, if things go bad, you can't recover from it. And that's the biggest flaw: not only a bad decision will kill your game, but a round of bad luck will too. That's why I gave it a 3, because i'm pretty sure a lot of people will just give up out of frustration after too many rounds of bad luck.
