This was one of my favorite XB360 games and I played them all on that console. This version is good but I HIGHLY recommend EchoPatch to get the most you can out of this game. Especially so if you want to play with a controller. It has other QOL upgrades as well like extra memory usage for loading, getting rid of certain logo screens, and some graphical upgrades. But this game still doesn't disappoint. Point of advice.....this is NOT a run and gun.
I have played every single Ys game and pretty much all are "good" with some being "Great" and a couple are "Masterpieces". This falls in the "Great" category. It isn't as good as Ys 8 and is about on par with Ys 9 but very different. The ship combat is fun and the exploration is vast. The combat is very good even if they dumped the three member parties. However, it works well with the story they're telling. Graphics are "fine" and on par with what one would expect from the series. It runs very well but can bee a little heavy on the highest settings surprisingly given the graphical design. Over all, it is a very well rounded Ys game. If I had never played Ys 8, I would give it 5 stars. But it falls short of the bar set by that game. In the end, it is a great buy and Ys fans won't be disappointed.
