This game is awful. Fighting mechanics are clumsy mess. Story is a travesty. Graphics worse than in KotOR. The only good point - physics, but it's completely useless. If we take Jedi Academy as a paragon of Star Wars slasher games, TFU is not a bit better than heroes mode in Battlefront 2017. But it doesn't offer shooting alternative.
I have no idea why, but the game lags and freezes on my PC, which runs Doom 2016 smoothly. Other than that, the game is cool. Think about this: it's not even a RPG, so it has less social interaction than Fallouts 3 and 4, and still, it gives me stronger Fallout vibe, than parts 3 and 4.
As much as I acknowledge all the brilliance of Fallout per se, GOG release suffers from the glitch of forcefields at Mariposa. There are two kinds of forcefields: one of them can be turned off by demolishing the emitters, and the other one is supposed to be disrupted temporarily by hacking (no option of demolition here). In my experience, temporary disruption here lasts for 0.01 second - I can barely register the brief blink. Therefore, the game meets dead end here. And this is fairly bought copy, supposed to be polished and stuff. A real shame. Fallout itself deserves all 5 stars as a game.
This game is primitive in all means - unbelievably poor graphics (regardless of being part of M&M franchise - I'm aware of graphics being insignificant part of original RPGs), corridor-like leveldesign, very simple mechanics etc. Still, it's not that bad as you may think. I had no problem with finishing the game back in 2000s - it's quite engaging, and simple mechanics actually help against getting bored. The problem is the price. At this very moment when I'm typing this review, it costs about 3.5 EUR (300 RUB), and even this small amount is real overprice, believe me. This game shouldn't cost more than a single dollar, jokes aside.
Where do I start? This game is not just bad, it is insulting. Storyline. Hitman games always had cheesy and corny scenarios, but at least they were stylish and internally logical. Absolution's plot is nothing but pure absurd. Gameplay. No immersion at all, stealth became primitive and arcade-like. Say hello to score count BTW, and you can't turn it off. Gamedesign. Forget about wide and developed locations. Welcome to linear corridors. Good sides? Probably decent gunplay. Doesn't worth it. Forget about this game. Let this abomination stay buried under eternal blasphemy.
