I followed Oleander.807's advice and played it with QuakeSpasm. I wasn't able go get the engine, that GOG supplied to work. Had a huge black bar on the upper part of the screen. Switching GPU/settings didn't help at all.
I'm running this great game in 1024x600 (32-bit) on my Acer Aspire One D255E. Intel Atom N570 (1.66 GHz dual core) with 2 GB DDR3 RAM. It runs flawlessly. Fantastic game on the go! Can't beliece, I spent US$ 1,400 on two 12 MB 3Dfx cards in SLI mode, when this game was brand new. My new netbook was US$ 300 including the 2 GB RAM! Amazing!! :-D
Perfectly playable on a AMD Fusion E350 system with integrated Radeon 6310 (HP dm1-3203)! By the way: This also runs better than the Steam version, which has graphics glitches and runs too fast in certain situations.
I also got the CD version to run fine.
