Dreamfall: The Longest Journey

The prequel to Dreamfall Chapters ...

... and the sequel to The Longest Journey. It has flaws. The camera problems can be solved. Google "Dreamfall: The Worst Camera Ever" and follow the advice there. Combat is a problem. I found tapping the forward key and pressing against the enemy and alternating using the mouse buttons worked for me. The mini games involving the lockpick and hacking can be tiresome. But you have to persevere. The story and game, they're OK but they could be better. Enjoyable, yes, but perhaps a grudging yes. Replayability which is a measure I use to see if a game is good is, well yes, I'll play it again but it's not going to be in the near future. As a prequel to Dreamfall Chapters I consider it necessary to play.

Dishonored - Definitive Edition

A FPS in disguise

GOG twisted my arm and forced me to buy this game. Arm twisting as in offering a very good discount that I could not refuse. I'm running this on a Dell Optiplex 780 with four cores at 2.83 GHz and a GT 1030 graphics card. No problems. Now this is a First Person Shooter set in a Victorian type era. It has weapon upgrades, loot and secret areas, just like any good old fashioned FPS ... but if you go in blazing away you get the bad ending. To get the good ending you have to have minimal body count. Which alters your game play and makes it a very different adventure ... Story is good, graphics are good, characterization OK, music I didn't really notice while playing the game (did some playing of it on YouTube and it fits the game OK). Replayability excellent. Must emphasize this replayability, alternative paths to finish the levels exist and going back and finding the alternatives is a game to enjoy. Negatives? I found the keyboard and mouse control a little awkward but that could be me. Totally recommended. And GOG you are forgiven for twisting my arm.

Syberia 3: The Complete Journey

Should you buy it?

If you haven't played and enjoyed Syberia 1 and 2 then NO. If you have played and enjoyed Syberia 1 and 2 and Gog offers you a decent discount then MAYBE. You'll have to put up with a buggy game and a poor user interface and a poor game save mechanic. Browse the Internet forums to see what I mean. If you can put up with these problems then this is another Syberia game and it's not too bad. Not the greatest but enjoyment can still be had out of the continuing adventures of Kate Walker. Hint: If your gameplay is too dark then adjust the gamma of the screen. If you have a Nvidia card this is in the Nvidia Control Panel.
