I bought this game a number of years ago, but have never been able to play it. I also have Imperialism 1 which I can play. I frequently come back to try again because I really enjoyed the disc versions of the game. Wishing I was able to play it!
I give this game a rating of 4 stars instead of five because playing against the computer at the hardest level is very fun but equally challenging. You need human opponents to make the challenge. The first making of this game you could put ships on lakes, I liked that, but they changed it with the delux version. When you have human opponents; this is a 10 over five game. the discovery of the map is fun. The battles are fun. Killing approaching enemy leaders is challenging. Promoting leader skills for effective defence and attack is challenging. In the early stages of the game comp opponents can possibly be challenging if they get a significant lead then attack with a vengence. Just need more human opponents
