I don't know what I was expecting. I started to play it but didn't really get through the tutorial before I thought that I didn't want to do it. Made a stealth based character. Couldn't stealth worth anything. I realized I would be in for a bad time. Don't know how to refund the game because it is way more of a hassle than steam.
I don't like that you have to go to a website to talk to the people of GOG. It is a good game. I already know that and it is an automatic 5 stars. However please fix the occasional crash. It is a good old game. I did buy it again. According to people online it is better already than the steam version. It is just that every once in a while it still crashes when loading for me. It just loads forever on the loading screen. Every once in a while this makes me not want to play it.
Not much to put here. I may be completely mistaken but I think it looks better than the steam version. Also there are less crashes but then I have only played 5 hours on here so far. Fallout new vegas deserves 5 stars. It isn't perfect but the rest of other games are bad enough that 5 stars makes sense.
It is a nice idea in theory but rolling a 1 or whatever it is and cutting your arm off is stupid. I had a character with like 23 strength. Knocked himself out. Stupid game design. I think the lore and world of arcanum. So there are some points for that. I didn't start a mech dwarf again but from memory they were useless. Also your npc can't heal you if you go tech. That is probably the biggest debuff. If you do want to play in my opinion just having a guy with high charisma so you have allies that stomp them in the face is the optimal strat. That is how I beat it the only time. Combat goes too fast in real time.
I can't believe that no one else mentioned the constant crashes. I like the game system. It is fun. However I just remember it crashing on me over and over again. I have the game on steam.
There are still some legacy bugs in the game. I played until the ice temple. There was an area with ice trolls. I killed all the trolls but now my dwarf is stuck in the area with the door and he can't cross the doorway again. I guess one work around is that you shouldn't try to use the doorway as a choke point. Maybe some of the ice troll bodies create a wall. Everyone else can walk through it but not my dwarf fighter with dash. Also for a heads up the game is difficult. I died so many times getting to the ice temple. Mainly the beginning is crazy difficult. Watch out for hold person. Such a simple spell but that spell right there makes the game hard.
