The core loop of the game is semi-automated combat where you have some active skills/potions along with minigames that increase your stats. Whether you like this game depends on whether you like timing-based minigames. Art style is great. Music/SFX are OK. You are not playing this game for story/characters and you will never replay it either. Some of the really high-end achievements will be incredibly tedious to get if you are a completionist. With all this in mind I bought the game on sale and got more than 15 hours worth of pretty relaxing and dumb fun out of it. If you sometimes just want to chill out with a game without having to get sweaty then you should give S&S:N a shot.

If you think the concept of "whaky golf" is appealing then think again. The formula never changes despite the window dressing being different. After the novelty of the first dozen challenges wears off you realize that you're now left with a trough full of flavorless goop to force yourself to eat. If you love golf then save yourself the trouble and buy an actual golf game instead.

Fun little diversion. Everything is pretty basic (combat mechanics, figuring out what price to charge for items), but I see this as a plus because the game is easier to pick up and start enjoying. You'll probable get a solid 15 hours from the game and a whole lot more if you are a completionist and decide to start NG+. Taking a star off because there's a lack of polish that forces you to get used to some small annoyances. Example: when your sore is upgraded far enough for you to have 5 chests it becomes a struggle to select the right one due to their proximity. One of the pets in the game functions as a walking chest (which is great!) but it can be accidentally interacted with during combat (can throw you off). Summary: If you see this game for sale at 50% off or more then it's worth a purchase and you'll have a good time for 15-20 hours. Full price of $20 that's being asked is a bit much for what's essentially a very tasty bag of candy.

If you load the game on an M2 Mac you will not see the main menu. I could find options for remapping controls, but not one for audio/video. I was able to play a bit of the game by getting lucky and eventually clicking the "New Game" button. Game loop is OK and the art style is great. Biggest problem is the jump. Besides making a very annoying "hiss" sound your character will ONLY jump to full height if you FULLY press your jump button. You might think this is silly as we've had progressive jumps since Mariom but there is ZERO leeway. If you didn't press your jump key ALL THE WAY down then your character will not jump to their full height. In a game with what looks like significant platforming sections this is a huge downside. Give this game a shot if you have Windows and see it on sale. Otherwise don't waste your time.

The Good - Turn based tactical combat mechanics are simple, but fun - Art and sound complement combat very well - Missions provide a good amount of variety and lots of challenge if you are feeling masochistic The Mid - Story is treated as a vehicle to string missions together and is otherwise incredibly bland - Characters are similarly boring and one note. An annoying character quirk is passed off as a "personality" The Bad - Even after you get used to the controls you will still be firing your characters' guns accidentally. Thankfully the game starts up very quickly so you'll be able to redo your turn easily if needed. - The graphics for ship interiors are often muddled and you have to pay extra attention to see if the floor above you is one you can or cannot shoot through. - The game has achievements in Steam, but not on GOG. This greatly limits the game's replayability. - There's a stinky undercurrent of "SocJus" throuhgout the game. Thankfully these are easy to ignore if you just don't talk to other characters in your party. The TL;DR Get the game if you want a simple and fun version of X-COM combat without the accuracy gamble. Don't get the game if you want a good story, fun characters, or replayability.

Do you like PB&J? Puppies? Halloween? Warm apple pie on a cool day? Then you'll love DUSK! Oh, what do all these things have to do with a horror-themed boomshoot that has compelling story, smooth weapons, and excellent controls? Nothing, because DUSK is even BETTER than puppies and all the rest. This is quintessential BOOMSHOOT. If this isn't activating your almonds and setting off neurons then I don't know what else to add. Even at full price this game is worth it, but on sale it should be every FPS-lover's nobrainer purchase!

This is not a "pick up and play" kind of game, but the time you spend learning mech movement and game mechanics will be very rewarding. You'll go from sticking to heavy and powerful mechs to zipping around the battlefield in a rickshaw while annihilating everything in sight. Grinding is completely optional as you can unlock all mech equipment, most mechs, and enough pilots/maps to suit your playstyle while playing through the campaign. By the time you decide to 100% the unlocks you'll know how pilot/vehicle multiplyers work and find your preferred combo for quickly beating maps for MAXX CREDIT GAINZ. If the premise at all appeals to you and you are not afraid of action then get this. Also "Hi, Mandy!". Thanks for the rec, bro!

A long time ago this used to be a fun and simple top-down action shooter. Now there is a clunky and ugly UI and needless RPG elements. This game isn't worth $14 or even $5 with how much competition there is in this space. Avoid it entirely or at least make sure you refund it in time!

Ignore the outdated reviewes. The game now matches 1:1 with what's on Steam. The game itself is as fun and engaging as the original reviewes mention. If you like humor, charm, exploration, and using your noggin every once in a while then this is a perfect addition to your library.
