Wrong decade guys

Thanks, but no thanks. I don't use a 30kbit modem anymore, so what do I want with wallpapers?

Risen

Unplayable Garbage

My entire review solely discusses why you should not buy the game in its current form. This is a "new" and "improved" version, PBs new overlords forced upon us which some outsourced company made to port it to newer consoles. It is quite hilarious to start up the game and get greeted by a "Press (Xbox A-Button) to continue" ... on PC ... without a controller plugged in. Yeah, it might look a bit better in 16:9 now, but who cares, when the gameplay is broken? I bet there are a lot of bugs they didnt fix or they introduced with this version, but none is so bothersome and gamebreaking like the "parry bug", which makes blocking hits of your opponent a bad idea, because if you dare to hold down the blockbutton, you might be able to block (with a longer delay than it used to be) BUT after the block the RisenHero performs a parryanimation, which roots you in place and makes you incredibly vulnerable for incoming hits and impossible to attack your opponent. This, additional to how delayed and slow the combat feels now, utterly **breaks** the game. Sure, the original game also had its issues, bugs and glitches, but we are talking about the MAIN MECHANICS of the game. To add insult to injury: THQ raised the prices with the release of the 2023 Update from 10 to 15 bucks. Patches that came afterwards to Steam (only via Beta-branches) never became released Patches, so on GoG you're shit out of luck ... but even on Steam people are just questioning what happened to the Patches (and whats gonna happen to all the bugs that came with the update) ... 11 months after the Update. You can't simply use an old Version here either - I tried all 4 with no luck. At some point they changed the entire (folder)structure of it, you can import your games, but to load them you need to manually copy and paste them into the correct folder (it still saves in the new location and the reference to the old save is lost). Tried it with the offline backup file too, but that one just throws errors.

PowerSlave Exhumed

short fun

The new Powerslave is pretty dope, but i want to mention some issues: the length: i completed it in 4 hours. Didn't hear anything about this rerelease before, so when I saw it in my brothers Steamlibrary, I had no prior knowledge about the complete package. The original releases were fairly different, so I honestly expected to merge them somehow - especially because there are no secrets to discover (other than building the transmitter). That leads to the game being incredibly short. As I said, I needed 4 hours to fully complete it and I certainly didn't rush through it - played on the 2nd highest difficulty. When compared to Blood, it just feels like a first episode. the hitboxes: yeah, I just couldnt really get used to my own hitbox. It is just a very weird one! The x-axis is (or at least feels) much wider than the y-axis is tall - so you are essentially a floating cupboard. Other than that it is a very fun albeit short experience.
