The world and characters are charming, but the battle system is lacking in depth (It's very easy to just spam Echo Slash, a skill you start with, for a large portion of the game if you have any idea what you're doing), and the implementation of Undertale-esque dodging minigames slows the pace of combat to a crawl. The Battle Network-ish dodging is fine, but I pretty much groaned whenever I had to dodge an uninteresting bullet pattern (There's a reason every enemy in UT/DR attacks at the same time). Despite this, I wouldn't say the battle system is outright bad, it just needs some adjustments. And again, the world and characters are charming, and the plot is simple but nice and... uh... comfort-food-y. I had just finished a significantly longer and more complex RPG when I played this, so it honestly worked for me as a good "between" game.
