I haven't completed the game yet, but played a few times. I like the graphics and the physics in terms of movement. You are free to scale walls, jump from rooftop to rooftop... That's what I've been missing after The Witcher. The controls are a bit hard to remember, though. I hadn't played the game for a couple of months and was afraid to continue, because I didn't remember a single thing - all I knew is it was complicated and I'd assassinate someone when trying to sprint. But then I learned that this game supports the XBox 360 controller which I happen to have. And with that one it's a lot better, because the game actually displays hints with respect to the buttons on the controller, which isn't particularly helpful when you're using a keyboard. What's a bit boring is that you often have to walk around as the person you actually are in the present, and in this situation you walk really slow. That's annoying. The story isn't the best in the world as of yet, but overall I like the game. I probably wouldn't buy it for the regular price, though.
Don't really like it. I bought it because I was curious about the story. But playing it is a pain. Seriously, I'd rather read a book. There are many obstacles you can't cross for no apparent reason, e.g. a flower, or a rope lying on the ground. The game has some funny moments, especially in the beginning. Overall, the story is not really interesting. In fact, I finished the game a week ago and I don't recall why the guy wanted to go to the moon right now. All you do in this game is walking around, pressing the spacebar when standing in front of certain objects, and solving the same kind of puzzle over and over again. The best thing about this one is the soundtrack. That's why I'm giving it two stars.
This game is way too hard. I don't know if it's just me, but I can't get past level 3. I keep restarting, I get upgrades, but it isn't really getting easier with those. Recently, the game told me that because I'm such a pro (yeah right), I can enter a more difficult mode. No thanks. I like the concept behind this one, and it looks addictive when you watch it, but playing it was not much fun for me.
I like the game's setting, but it's hard to learn the controls. Fortunately, the beginning of the game is a tutorial. But as others have pointed out, while the game tells you what to do accoustically, there are no visual cues. For example, it says "push the crouch hot key or click the icon in the bar". Well, any other game would tell you what the crouch key actually is. I had to check the options menu to find out. Turns out the crouch icon that I could click alternatively was a 10x10 pixel Icon in the HUD that you could barely see. Well, the story goes on. The game tells me to "Open the door". I can see like 5 doors. It says when I hover over the door, the cursor will turn green/blue/red. Well, nothing happens. I find out that I accidentally de-selected the main character. I hadn't even noticed he could be selected as there was no indication, nothing like a health bar that tells you this is your active unit. Well, then I managed. So I learn how to shoot and throw knifes. All fine. Then my buddy in the game knocks me out and I'm told to catch him. So I go after that bastard. Game tells me I need to take care that he doesn't detect me. So I approach him and ooops he notices me. What happens next? He runs off and it's game over - have to restart the tutorial from the beginning. 10 minutes wasted. Did not want to do that again. I could have saved the game - but well, who'd expect this to happen?
Well, I bought this game during the insomnia sale after looking at the video and the screenshots. It was a rushed decision given the nature of the sale, and it was a wrong one. I probably should have read the entire description, then I would have known that this game is turn-based. I expected it to be more like Command & Conquer. After trying it out quickly, I was quite disappointed. It's like you're playing a board game, but it's about life and death (of your units of course). It takes forever to play this game, your moves are very slow and the controls do not feel very intuitive for a newcomer. Anyway, what I find even more disappointing is the fact that this game uses a launcher that gets updates for you. I don't know where they come from, and I don't know where they are saved. It seems to overwrite the installed files - GOG does not have the latest version, and the game seems to download quite a lot of data... Not sure if one can play the latest version once the company behind it files bankruptcy. Honestly, this game is quite expensive and does not live up to its price. There's far better things to get on GOG. What I like about it is how you can adjust the resolution of the game and the GUI elements independently. But other games get it right automatically...
