I love the steamworld universe, but the only deck builder I have ever truly enjoyed is Midnight Suns. For those who enjoy deck builders, this would be a higher rating but for me, even though I'm not a big deck builder fan, this was a fun game. Glad I bought it, glad I played it. Won't be replaying it.
We do a little party with my elementary / middle school kids where we each take a character and voice their lines ourselves and then play our individual characters in combat. May not be for everyone but it's simple while offering some depth with lots of fun little adventures and it's easy to get attached to your little party, especially if you bring old characters back on new adventures. Highly recommend, especially if you rope some other folks into playing IRL beside you as I have.
Some games are fun. Some games are good. Some games are even great. And other games are so epic that they draw you in and leave you with lasting memories large and small from your time spent in their world. This is the latter. Buy it. Enjoy it. Thank me later.
