This approach differs very much from the first games. These were more like Tomb Raider, just with a cool vampire lady. What one gets with Bloodrayne Betrayal is basically Castlevania. Still its great: Beautiful Graphics, anime styled art, great music. The gameplay is focused on combat and platforming, which works great due to the precise controls. The gameplay offers some variety and the story is superficial, but fits the game. It has to be mentioned, that one encounters a steep learning curve. Otherwise this game is a 5 star recommendation.
A wonderful Star Wars space sim, that just catches the atmosphere of the movies. You get to fly all the ships from the X-Wing to the Millenium Falcon. The charaters that appear are well done so you really can "dive into" the game. Those who have played X-Wing and Tie-Fighter will instantly feel familiar with the interface and the controls. If you don't have this game, then get it.
This is for me the ultimate space sim. I belive it is for the space sim genre what System Shock is in the FPS/ RPG genre. You fly a 188m long ship, which drifts a lot (because of its mass). Since the ship has turrents and can fire in any direction. This makes the game so interessting and entertaining - its not like any other space sim I have ever played. In general the game is rather complex and one really has to get used to the many controls. Once you get the hang of it is highly entertaining and there is a great story. The add on (Defiance) is maybe even better: it introduces checkpoints during missions, so you dont have to play the complete mission again. Also it introduces a zoom for the turrets and a weapons loadout. This game is highly recommandable.
