I played this back in the day - had a lot of fun. This remaster put me back in that mood and I like it. If one is into retro-shooters this is recommended.
It could be a great game - I like the atmosphere and the gameplay. The devs really made the concept of Robocop work. The reason I give only 3 stars are the bugs. Enemies drop through the floor and softlock the game in various occasions. Sometimes they respawn out of nowhere, but often not. So yeah...bummer.
This is a great game and is in my top 3 list of games. Great stroytelling; gameplay is fun. With 2.2 most bugs seem to be fixed - there are some minor issues but nothing serious. Looking for a buzzword...quintruple A? Maybe quadruple and a half or so.
Unique style and gameplay elements.
The gameplay is close to Postal 2 and fun, but on a technical level it is terrible. My framerate fluctuates between 8 and 120 FPS - after I already optimized. The in-game phone UI often stops working; NPCs do not spawn etc. RWS should really fix at least the major problems.
...why not play Diablo 1 instead?
Awesome in the sense of universe awesome not hotdog awesome. I have 177h in this game and keep going. The best FPS of recent history.
Creative, great - a bit short.
What breaks the game are the controls. Very often I cannot pick up items, the symbol just does not appear. Attacking from behind fells like 1 nanometer margin. The story and graphics are okay, but as a game this product just fails.
A GZDoom Hexen-like FPS. According to Civvie 11 that would be not a good thing, but I like it for the most part. There is a nice twist: you can transform into various shapes which give you abilities to solve puzzles. Remindes me a bit of Powerslave. Downsides of the game: corners are too dark and I do not want to waste a torch. Also there are some cheap shots at the player. Altogether cool - not as good as Hedon, but still good.
