Have made multiple attempts at campaigns as all factions. Even at easiest difficulty, missions are impossibly stacked against player on all but the simplest objectives. I used to enjoy this game as a kid and it was never this difficult. Enemy ships almost never miss, even when I'm performing erratic maneuvers while only about one third of my shots land. With two wingmen, I somehow lost to a single Romulan light cruiser. It's worth pointing out that Romulan ships are the weakest in the game. When playing as a Borg, my ship refused to regenerate. But when I attacked the Borg, the AI ships' hull regenerated. Reinforcing shields is a joke mechanic; it is only effective when the AI does it. If you do it, an enemy ship will either flank you with all-arc weapons so you can't shoot back (while conveniently being more maneurable in a cruiser than the player as a frigate) or simply pound your shields to ruin while you struggle to land retaliatory shots. Wingmen are useless as the enemy will gun straight for the player in an engagement.
