Grim Dawn

A gem among gems

This game is the best top-down diablo-style game I have ever played. There is so many things to collect, lots of things you can do, so much stuff you can craft, secrets to find; the classes have alternate names if you multiclass; the stories are interesting along with the random pages(lore notes) you can collect for bonus xp; there are cool factions to join; and lots of different monsters to slay or unlock to conquer. The voice-acting is on and off; it isn't fully voice acted, but there are some conversations that are. You start the game as a 'taken'(a person taken over by an alien green mist) on trial, survive being hanged, and are now someone to save the locals from the aetherial takeover. You must convince the locals that you're trustworthy of their location and special weapons until you reclaim this post-apocalyptic alt-earth in the name of humanity. It's got an awesome multiplayer system that allows you to play with up to 4 other people and either share xp or go pvp mode. With the DLC Crucible, there is survival mode and any drops you get you can take into your current campaign. The devs are awesome and really listen to the community, releasing patches and QoL fixes. I highly recommend this game to anyone that enjoys looter-shooters, RPGs, post-apocalyptic environments, or dungeon-crawlers. I've bought this game so many times on every platform I can find because how much I love this game and enjoy gifting to my friends. I also recommend as a last note to beat the base game and then check out the mod Dawn of Masteries(requires all DLCs); opens up a whole new world of playability to the game.
