Doom is an old revered classical. I did play it on GZDoom and of course the experience was flawless. GZDoom is a modern port of the engine that can do more than the original DOS port. It works on many OSes: Linux, MacOS X, Windows. The Linux builds are for Ubuntu based distros but they provide the source code if you feel adventurous. The textures looked better ! GZDoom can also play mods and i recommend Brutal Doom as a fun mod to play. You will have to fiddle a bit in the confing.ini of GZDoom to install mods. Nothing very hard. To play Doom on GZDoom, start by installing your GOG version of DOOM. Then, search for the .wad file. Normally, it is called Doom.wad Download and install GZDoom, it is usually easy, even on Ubuntu. Copy the original .wad file into the appropriate folder of GZDOom. That can vary according to your OS. On my Linux rig it is /home/*yourname*/.config/gzdoom/ And you are good to go ! Have fun and fiddle with the mods, Brutal Doom and Doom Slayer are awesome !

In this game you die fast but the game doesn't stop and a new queen is tossed on that throne. Sometimes you are asked questions you cannot guess the answer without having experience in the game. But a guillotine in a medieval setting, really ? :p Besides, if you buy the Linux version, you may be stuck in the infamous black screen at startup bug. To avoid this, on ubuntu 16.04, you have to edit three lines in the preferences file. For what is worth i solved my issue this way: Edit he pref file situated in /home/foobar/.config/unity3d/Nerial/Reigns_ Her Majesty/prefs Replace foobar with whatever username you use of course. Locate the three lines: <pref name="Screenmanager Is Fullscreen mode" type="int">1</pref> <pref name="Screenmanager Resolution Height" type="int">0</pref> <pref name="Screenmanager Resolution Width" type="int">0</pref> Change the "1" for a "0" in the first line, that will put the game in windowed mode. Then change the numbers in the two following lines to get the window resolution you like else you will have a small black window. One less star for having to fiddle myself. I my opinion, the most interesting part of this bundle is the falcon 4 copy. It allows you to play the modern F4 BMS total conversion mod legally. BMS (now in its version 4.33) simulates very realistically different versions of the F16 (block 40, MLUs, block 52, etc...) with all the avionics, recent munitions, targeting pods, buddy lasing, 3D cockpit, dynamic campaign, updated graphics, support for modern joysticks, support for track IR and a very active multiplayer community. Steep learning curve. BMS is for hardcore simmers.
