The Alters: Deluxe Edition

Amazing Game

I can honestly say The Alters is one of the most emotionally powerful and original games I’ve played in years. From the moment I stepped into Jan's strange, circular base and realized what the game was actually about—creating different versions of yourself based on alternate life choices. I am completely hooked. This isn’t just another survival or base-building game. It's a deep, thought-provoking journey into identity, regret, and what it means to be human. Watching Jan interact with his own Alters each shaped by different paths he could have taken. It was moving in ways I didn't expect. Some of them became close allies, others conflicted with each other or even with me… Game play-wise, the time-pressure of outrunning the sun's deadly radiation adds a thrilling layer to the experience. Every decision matters, every upgrade feels earned, and building up your rotating habitat is incredibly satisfying. And visually, the game is stunning. The alien world is hauntingly beautiful, and the sound design and music pull you in even deeper. But more than the mechanics or visuals, what stayed with me the most was the emotion. Few games manage to hit that level of depth. If you’re into narrative driven games, sci-fi, or anything that explores identity in a meaningful way play this game. It’s more than worth it. Thank you, 11 bit studios, for this amazing experience.
