Shadowrun Returns

Like a good book you can't put down

Very much like a choose your own adventure book. You have a cannon plot line and depending on whichever facets of your own character creation you willl weave in, around and through it. Very well written and wow does it do a great job of keeping you invested in your game. I found it great that they seeded humour thoughout. You could always tell when a development team loves what they do and how well this game handles in Linux is amazing! Running this out of the box in Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS but had no sound. Ran the following to solve my issue. sudo apt install pipewire-alsa:i386

Caveblazers

Would have been at home in the 90's

This would have kicked soo much butt on an 90's arcade cabinet. Oddly addicting to keep playing. If this was cabinet I'd be saving my quarters again that's for sure!

Shantae and the Pirate's Curse

Really well put together game

There are soo many reasons I like this one but the gameplay is smooth and really enjoyable with an XBox controller. I haven't enjoyed myself this much since I had Sega Genesis

Sunblaze

Charming plot with a dash of retro

I've ran it in a few different Debian based Linux distributions. It works perfectly in Heroic Games Launcher running Proton. Great writing with replay-ability make for a excellent combo that will keep you hooked and coming back for more. The soundtrack is pretty sweet too. Reminds me when I was a kid in the mid 90's but with a modern controller!

Alwa's Awakening

Just in awe of it

I'm 39 years old and thought I just went back in time 3 decades. Other titles of that time don't feel as smooth and polished as this one does. It's obvious it really was made out of a labor of love. You can really get that feeling the developer really realllllly finessed the details and loved what they were doing. Keyboard works great but would recommend changing your layout for bigger hands in the menu. If you have a USB joystick from either a SNES or Genesis might be the absolute pinacle of play. Only recommendation I'd make would be play next to a clock. You may only intend on playing for 30 minutes but due to the quality of the game it will remove all concepts of time. Yup, THAT good!

Broken Sword: Director's Cut

Generational game at our house

I bought the original back in '96 when it released and played it on a 486-based desktop PC when I was 12yrs old. Now I'm playing through it with my own kids and they are just as captivated by it as I was on the original stock game. The director's cut version is absolute icing on an already awesome cake though too! Playing through the same game with added content I can't stress how awesome this is since decades later I remember portions but with new content it's absolutely mind blowing. Thank you guys for putting this together,

Zombie Night Terror

Addicting and beautifully atmospheric

Ubuntu user and the game plays like a dream. One of those games you can completely get absorbed into. It's hard to believe that they found the perfect mixture of puzzle and action based to keep you coming back. Even when you get to a hard level and you're away from the computer you still think about the levels. One can't forget to mention the hidden gems of humour throughout the game. Whether a nod to the cliche of zombie movies of yesteryear or just throwing the occasional joke out it's done with charm and class. Well done!

Treasure Adventure Game

Tripped and fell back into the 90s

As soon as I started playing I was swept away back to a time in my childhood where D-Pads were the rage and controllers were as simple as their graphics. This games ranks right up there with AAA titles from yester-year on the consoles those of us in our 30's grew up on. My own kids (5&7yrs old) were enchanted by the graphics and we all loved the puzzle elements to the game as well to the point my kids ask me to play so they can watch. I can't really argue with them as I found this brought the kid out in me as well. Cheers to the devs as you can tell they definately had fun making it! A++
